Barcelona Spain - Door 1

This is am example of one of the many carved doors that we saw while in Spain last week.  This door is in the Gaudi Basilica Sagrada Familia.

the construction cranes have been digitally removed

The images picked up off the net do not really do it justice. Just note that the tallest tower is yet to be built, it is to be twice as tall as the existing towers.

The building is modern and quite amazing.  About 25 years of work remain though the main part of the basilica is now open to the public. The entire building is new, the stained glass is like nothing I'd seen in a great church before.

There will be carved wood but right now it is mostly about carved stone and tile work.  I was not disappointed to have only one great wood door to admire.

  1. I was going to build one of these doors for the house. Then I thought perhaps it would be a good idea to get the house first....
